He completed his Ph.D. in 2010, focusing on evaluating interactions between stratospheric ozone variability and the Brewer-Dobson circulation. Dr. Demirhan began his academic career as a research assistant from 1995 to 2000 and has been a lecturer since 2013.

His research areas encompass technical sciences, atmospheric sciences, meteorological engineering, climate, climate change, and climate modeling. Projects supported by Dr. Demirhan include the investigation and modeling of wind potential and the impact of sea breeze winds on the western coasts of Turkey.
